Help Stop a Dirty Biomass Plant in North Carolina

Enviva, the world's largest exporter of wood pellets, wants to build a new massive biomass plant in Richmond County that will threaten public health, degrade hardwood forests and sap strength from local economies — and North Carolina officials have greenlighted the project. Demand that state officials stop this disastrous facility in a county that’s already an epicenter of environmental injustice.

Enviva, the world's largest exporter of wood pellets, wants to build a new massive, asthma-inducing biomass plant in Richmond County that will threaten public health, degrade hardwood forests and sap strength from local economies — all in a place that's already an epicenter for environmental injustice. And North Carolina officials have greenlighted the project.

NRDC is joining with the Dogwood Alliance and other allies to generate 50,000 letters to North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and NC Department of Environmental Quality Secretary Michael Regan urging them to halt this disastrous project. Please stand with the people of Richmond County and help stop the Enviva biomass plant.
