TELL THE WORLD HERITAGE COMMITTEE TO HELP PROTECT MONARCHS!

Urge UNESCO's World Heritage Committee to help boost protections for monarchs across their North American migration route to ensure that these majestic butterflies return to their winter refuge year after year.

North America's monarch butterflies are in crisis — the overuse of toxic herbicides in the United States and Canada is wiping out native milkweed they need to survive. The number of monarchs that spend the winter in Mexico's Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve has plummeted by an alarming 90 percent in less than two decades — from 1 billion butterflies to less than 57 million. Urge UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee to help boost protections for monarchs across their North American migration route to ensure that these majestic butterflies return to their winter refuge year after year.
